The seeds that we've kept inside of us will grow when the rain of God's blessings comes. Those seeds that grow will show if they're good or bad things planted in our lives.

For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned. [Heb 6:7-8 BSB]

The rain of God's blessings can also be quantified as “money.” This money-blessing does not change us. It just reveals who we are or what we have become. Money does not change our color; it shows our true colors.

Money is an amplifier.

It amplifies the whispers of our souls, the faintest echoes from the deepest recesses of our hearts.

If you're generous, you'll be able to help a lot of people. [Rom 12:8] If you're godly, you'll have an abundance left over for every good work. [2Cor 9:8]

But if you're greedy, then you'll have more opportunity to hoard. If you're proud, then you'll flaunt your extravagance. If you're lazy, then you'll have your chance to support your sluggish lifestyle. If you have evil intentions, then you'll be able to finance your schemes.

These wrong attitudes and mindset will only lead to ruin, even to a point of beyond recovery.

We all clamor: "All I ever want to do is to prosper. A life of poverty is hard."

So this is the principle I have discovered: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. [Rom 7.21 BSB]

Then who can save us from ourselves?

Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. [Rom 7.24-25 NLT]

The God of prosperity is not the Lord of Avarice. We don’t condone a religion of luxury and excesses.

Our Father God wants to bless us exceedingly and abundantly far more than we could ever ask or imagine. [Eph 3:20] But this blessing is for a purpose - to accomplish His plans and purposes. [Isa 45:13]

Will a father ever give a toy that will hurt and disable a child? It was said that ‘some people are good because they can't afford to be bad.’ But when given the chance, people do hurt themselves. When we are left alone to ourselves, we self-destruct.

But God is hopeful. He gives us opportunities to change and develop. We then decide to choose Him and be with Him.

Take the case of Judas: He was given the task to be a treasurer, and yet was guilty of stealing from the funds later on. Our Sovereign God is good and faithful. He desires that we find our strength in Him, and surrender our weaknesses to Him.

A wise man wrote:

"…Give me neither poverty nor riches;

feed me with the bread that is my portion.

Otherwise, I may have too much

and deny You, saying, ‘Who is the LORD?’

Or I may become poor and steal,

profaning the name of my God." [Pro 30.8-9 BSB]

Now there is wisdom in this, a balance. Early in life, I thought it was so selfish of him - and yet this is in the Bible. So please see a truth here, a warning to our hearts.

"Be careful not to forget the LORD your God by failing to keep His commandments and ordinances and statutes, which I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses in which to dwell, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all that you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud, and you will forget the LORD your God…" [Deut 8:11-14 BSB]

It was also said that the goal is not to make it in life, but to make it to heaven.

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? [Mark 8:36 BSB]

Of what use is monetary success and financial power be in this lifetime, when you'll end up in torment for eternity? That is no success at all.

So go ahead, let us earn those millions in the Lord. Let us then buy those lands where we build God beautiful houses of worship, as we bless our own families with inheritances. Let us finance the work of the Gospel...

"But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth…" [Deut 8:18 BSB]

If you ever forget the LORD your God and go after other gods to worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish. [Deut 8:9:19 BSB]

In awareness, don’t ever let money nurture and nourish those wrong seeds in your life. As the Holy Spirit brings it to your attention, repent and change your ways. Stump out the roots and seeds of evil, and let God's goodness flourish. By the grace of God, it is possible to be rich and righteous. So help me, God.
