Water Baptism is the first step of obedience to God. Delaying is blunt disobedience.

"As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?" (Acts 8:36 NIV)

An Ethiopian eunuch dressed in style and pride didn’t hesitate to be water baptized after understanding the work of Christ Jesus for him on the cross.

"Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day." (Acts 2:41 NIV)

Waiting in line and any other inconveniences and discomfort did not stop three thousand men (3,000) to be water baptized in one day. Genuine faith does not shy away from this public declaration.

"Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16 NLT)

Jesus Himself put a two-fold concept for salvation: faith and baptism. If you have a chance to be water baptized but you haven't, then this holy verse puts a question mark on your Christianity. Only one person made it to paradise and heaven without water baptism – the other criminal with Jesus on the cross! He didn’t have to, simply because his circumstances wouldn’t allow it – they were on a cross to die. He didn’t have time anymore, but you do!

"And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name." (Acts 22:16 NIV)

2,000 years later, the urgency echoes on without a faint: So now, what are you waiting for? Be water baptized!
